Summary
The civil rights movements began in1954 with the Brown vs Board of education this argument is based off on segregated schools. In 1954 the Supreme Court ordered an end to racial segregation in public schools. CORE was a civil rights group devoted to nonviolent protest. In little rock Arkansas , the governor ordered national guards to keep African American students out of school. President Eisenhower sent federal troops to end the crisis , the kids that were blocked to get into the the school where called the little rock nine. Freedon riders rode down to the south to prove to people that they are not scared of coming down to the south. Congress had passed the 24th amendment that had band all poll taxes for elections of presidents. Civil rights act of 1964 president Johnson banned discrimination's in employment and public accommodations. Discrimination in housing Was banned by the Civil rights act of 1968.
Original thought
at first i thought that African Americans where going to always remain segregated from white people but after learning how they over came all of this hatred and fought for there freedom. You could honestly say anything is possible in America . I am honestly happy all of this is over and we could all live in peace no matter how much white people tried to make the african American community bad they knew they just wanted there rights and to live in place where everyone is equal.
